Either Bill Maher is pretty much uncancellable at this point -- or he simply doesn't care.
In a candid interview with entertainment industry publication Deadline, the HBO host said he was "over COVID," ripped into de facto COVID czar Dr. Anthony Fauci, said he wouldn't get a booster shot, and said public health officials and the "medical establishment" shouldn't "sit there in your white coat and tell me, 'Just do what we say.'"
Maher is certainly singing a different tune from the rest of Hollywood -- and, if he were anyone else, this would probably be a scandal. Cancel culture has drummed people out for less, after all --
The interview with Deadline was ostensibly about the 20th anniversary of his current show, "Real Time with Bill Maher." However, things took an unexpected turn when Maher was asked, "heading back to a new season this week, what’s your feeling about the pandemic in 2022?"
"I'm over COVID," Maher said.
"I was never scared of it. I was always scared of the reaction to it, and as this has played out that only proved to be more true for me. I’m sure many people feel different, but that’s me. It was never that virulent a threat, I thought, to people who were in good health," Maher said.

Maher is the king of flip flop. Nothing he says has validity.
My next door neighbor is in the medical field, got the shot and is boosted.....she now has covid for the SECOND time.
My wife and I haven’t ever even been tested much less getting the shot and we are fine.
Every day I hear or read something that confirms our decision to refuse these little tested experimental treatments was the absolute correct one. Today is no different.
My wife and I are the same. In fact, my wife’s sister got COVID a little over a month ago and she has MS and a weakened immune system. My wife nursed her through it and I helped a little. We never showed symptoms. We eat right, take supplements appropriate for the world we live in right now and, most importantly, trust the Great Healer for our health.
We treat this, at the personal level, the same way we treated the swine flu, bird flu, etc. We ignore it. The only reason it’s a big deal is because our governments are literally destroying our culture and economy over it. It’s going to leave a mark.

Maher is only doing this because he knows the Democrats are doomed. He’s actually fine with most of the laws and bills the Dems are pushing.
Can’t stand him but the truth is the truth.
This “thinking for yourself” business can be a dangerous slippery slope. Although Maher is probably immune to it, one day you refuse a booster and next you know, you’re wondering about global warming and socialism (if you’ll recall the early years of this century, this is pretty much what happened to Dennis Miller). Takes a rare person to thread that needle. If it were a normal, honest man, I’d say we’re witnessing the birth of a Republican.
Something rather ironic: My son, who is 41 and quite obese, got Covid a few weeks ago and was quite ill. He lost quite a bit of weight and he was on ivermectin and an inhaler similar to the one my wife uses to clear her sinuses due to allergies.
He recovered completely.
Then, last night, one of his drivers called in sick (Chicago area), and he took the truck out (he owns a company with roughly 15 fuel trucks). Four hours ago, he lost control of the truck on ice and slammed into a tree. He’s dead.
Thanksfully, my wife was there for a baby shower and staying at the house with my son and our 12 year old granddaughter. They’re keeping each other sane. I’m here in Kentucky with the dog. It’s rather difficult, but I am so grateful the Lord put my wife there with our granddaughter. They are closer than any granddaughter and grandmother I’ve ever seen. They will be very good for each other until I get there.
Every once in a while Maher says something reasonable.
He’ll be right back on the reservation soon.

OH, my! You are saying that your son has died from the accident? I am so sorry. Prayers for all of you.
This isn't his truck, but the type he uses.
This is pretty hard to take. He just survived a serious case of Covid. And my poor wife. Her first husband died of Leukemia without life insurance when her three kids were all under 8. She made her peace with God on that one and actually got closer to God. We both know he's in control. There was a lot going on in his family when this happened and it turns everything on its ear. Maybe in a good way. The Lord knows what's up.
