The Cincinnati Bengals started playing football in 1968. They had never won a road playoff game before Saturday night.
It seems impossible to go more than 50 years without one road playoff win. But the Bengals stood at 0-7 in road playoff games.
Things are changing for the Bengals.
The Bengals, whose last playoff win before this season came in January of 1991, won their second playoff game in eight days and are moving on to the AFC championship game with a 19-16 win over the Tennessee Titans, the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson got a deflected interception with 20 seconds left near midfield. It was Ryan Tannehill's third interception of the game, and it was crushing. That set up a game-winning field goal as time expired.
There were multiple times on Saturday in which it seemed the Titans would storm back from a 10-point deficit and crush the Bengals' dreams. But the defense made some huge plays. And Burrow, who tied an NFL record by being sacked nine times by the Titans defense, brought it home. He hit a huge 19-yard pass to Ja'Marr Chase to put the Bengals into field-goal range. Rookie Evan McPherson then hit the field goal to put the Bengals into the NFL's final four.

I think anyone should be better than Rothlisberger.
I was thinking maybe the Lions. 😉
Defense definitely was aggressive, and made plays.
Garoppolo had a big smile on his face. I like seeing that. Shows he is a competitor, and gives a damn.
But I kept thinking there was a “Pick Six” just waiting to happen with Garoppolo, he got away with a few. Deebo sure is fun to watch, more greatness courtesy of the SEC!
Wanna bet there will be a coach fired in Green Bay soon? Maybe tonight?
Aint gonna be the head coach either.
You and I know what the Lions problem is.
Right up at top.
Yep
I hear ya. Garappolo is an accident waiting to happen.
Debbo for sure, and Bosa from the Big Ten. 👍
Niners back-to-back beat the former Packer and current Packer coaches.
Lions are about to get much better. I like Dan Campbell as a coach, players go out for him. Another good draft this season, and the Lions are in business.
Ya, well they’ll have to face the Bucs.
Unless LA gets lucky.
Niners defense will keep them in the game against anyone they play against. And if Deebo keeps making plays, who knows?
But QB is definitely their weak link.
Special Teams coach.
They weren’t so special tonight.
Guess that loss to the Lions really was a sign of things to come.
Your thinking The Fords?
Let’s see if they stay out of the way again concerning the draft. All our draft picks played. We are in a good position to add some key players , in key positions this draft.
NO Quarterback is necessary. Not yet.
Three games this year..all from special teams play.
Goff can get them to the playoffs, but not further IMHO. But I don’t see a game-changing QB in the Draft this year, other than maybe Kenny Pickett from Pitt, but I would go for him in the Second Round.
Two scores, actually.
I’m fine with Goff.
A team must be built first. Even if it takes another 2 years. Then even I could play QB and win. 😉
