My local Safeway has wonderful organic veggies, very well priced. And so do other local stores. Safeway used to be horrible, but now it’s the best store in town re organics. New produce manager at our local is good too, young guy raised on a farm.

All Safeways and Albertsons in the US are owned by one guy in NYC, a friend of Trump’s. Apparently he hired all the right product managers within the last couple of years, and they’re keeping us healthy. Lots of customers talk about it in check-out lines.

My only local grocery store (not counting Walmart) is also a Safeway. It’s very well-run and the organic produce is pretty good too, if a tad pricey. But for some products — apples, celery, leafy greens and such — the added expense is well worth it. I’ve begun growing my own greens, which is a huge help.
