My only local grocery store (not counting Walmart) is also a Safeway. It’s very well-run and the organic produce is pretty good too, if a tad pricey. But for some products — apples, celery, leafy greens and such — the added expense is well worth it. I’ve begun growing my own greens, which is a huge help.

I get fresh-grown from my daughter’s garden about twice a year. She’s really a domestic goddess.r. We do have street fairs in the summer, source of great homegrown produce. Only place in town I can get turnip greens. Maybe I should get one of those big big pots and plant some turnips. You never know.
