Except that 90% are vaccinated. So all this means is that for the current strain the vaccine isn’t doing anything for anyone. It *doesn’t* mean you’re more likely to get the current strain if you’re vaccinated.
Yes, I’ve read reports about negative efficacy of the vaccines but I don’t think this shows that. Yes, I got the J&J shot and yes I regret it...but we have to be balanced here, all I see are “percentages” being stated over and over but they’re misleading.
Being vaxed, you will definitely eventually die. Me, being unvaxed and with natural immunity will probably never die.......???......yeah.
According to Ourworldindata.org, the vaccination rate in the UK is 77%. If you want “fully vaccinated” it’s a bit lower.
“So all this means is that for the current strain the vaccine isn’t doing anything for anyone.”
But that is all the article is suggesting: “This data suggests that the Covid-19 injections are clearly incapable of preventing infection or transmission of Covid-19”
There is no reason to mandate a vaccine that does nothing to affect infection or transmission. It probably is part of why the UK is changing course - as the US ought to! COVID has become “the flu” - an unpleasant but very survivable viral infection that high-risk people ought to be very careful about while the rest of us go on with our lives. And you should get a shot or not based on your own risk factors and lifestyle and willingness to accept a possible high death risk.
PS: Recovering from COVID as I type. Day 5 and it is almost gone. I’m in my 60s.
From a 2nd hand contact in England, authorities are removing COVID vaccines from vaccine clinics for testing.
Just an FYI
