A 24-year-old mother was found bludgeoned to death in her bathtub, and her daughter, 4, beaten unconscious in her bed nearly 12 hours after a 911 call was placed from her phone last Saturday - and the boyfriend of a friend who used her as a fake 'cover story' so she could go on a night out has been arrested.
The body of Mackenzie Hopkins was found submerged in a bathtub at her home in Kansas City, Missouri, just before 6pm on January 15 with blunt force trauma injuries to her face and head.
Her father found her body after requesting a welfare check, according to a press release from Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Hopkins' daughter, whose name was withheld, was found lying on her own bed suffering from severe head trauma. She remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Jose Escalante-Corchado, 28 - the boyfriend of a friend who used her as a cover story so that she could go on a night out the evening before - has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
Police said that a 911 call was placed from Hopkins' phone around 6am that morning where the operator could hear people arguing, although no one spoke. It's not clear whether police were dispatched to her home.
Bloody shoe prints found throughout the home were traced to a specific brand of cowboy boots owned by Escalante-Corchado and his van was seen in on surveillance footage near Hopkins' home around the time of her murder.
DailyMail.com obtained a police report that states that around 6am on Saturday morning, a 911 call - referred to as a disturbance in the documents - was placed from Hopkins' phone where the operator heard 'parties fighting.' Police would not confirm whether or not officers responded

The killer’s girlfriend says she’s spending the night with the victim but instead goes out for a night on the town with other friends.
When the girlfriend doesn’t show up the killer goes to the victims house and the girlfriend isn’t there, he takes his anger out on the mom and daughter.
That seems to be becoming more common for US-born Hispanics as well. There is less desire to Americanize.

My mother didn’t drop her name. Her maiden name became her middle name since in Spain (at least at the time) middle names weren’t given and so that’s what she used in documents when we came here.

Plus I’m sure you know it’s common for both names (not hyphenated) to be used by Hispanics. The hyphenated part may be American tho I’ve never seen hyphens in any of my Spanish family’s names. Nor friends. But both names yes.

He came to check on her, And when he found out she was not there Beat the crap out of this woman for covering for her. And her daughter.

In any truly civilized country such people, upon conviction for crimes such as this, would be summarily executed. In this country these animals are routinely returned to the streets to resume their criminal activities.

Prayers for the little girl to recover. Prayers the father who found them - i cannot image having such image of a loved one in my mind. Prayers for rest of family.
No need this had to happen if the ‘Friend” had been honest and dealt with her own bad situation and not brought others into it at all.
But my relatives from Colombia put their moms name last, as did an exchange student we had from Barcelona.
And of course in the modern elite feminists they combine their original name then their husbands name. I have no idea if they burden their kids with the double name.
Once again we need to read a British paper to find out what is going on in America.
I have known many women who dated Hispanic border jumpers. The phillipine or Guamanians were always great family people. The ones from South of the border, were a very mixed bag. One guy raped a ladies daughter from a first marriage, others ended up beaten and bloody before and after arrests, and restraining orders. Some were regular working Joses, but not as many as were real trouble.
