As gas stations go, there are few chains that have managed to capture the attention of travelers — and eaters — like Buc-ee’s. The Texas-born chain is a highway oasis, boasting a slew of clean bathrooms, a dizzying array of snacks and prepared foods, and tons of merch emblazoned with the chipper face of its mascot, a beaver named Bucky. [...]
Founded in 1982, the chain slowly built a local cult following and in 2001, owner Arch “Beaver” Aplin expanded the convenience store into a full-fledged travel center in Luling, Texas. More locations popped up across the state in the following years, and by 2019, the chain expanded outside of the state with a location in Robertsdale, Alabama. Buc-ee’s has continued expanding at an impressive clip since then, opening locations in Georgia, Florida, and soon, Tennessee.

You can buy all kinds of stuff there. Deer corn and deer feeders here in GA. The cinnamon rolls are absolutely awesome. Heat em for 15 seconds in microwave.
We have one here in Georgia that is awesome (Calhoun/Adairsville ). You should see all the jerky they have. Don’t get the Ghost Pepper flavored unless you’re a glutton for punishment. Tons of other cool stuff. Buc-ee Beaver Nuggets are a delicious snack, if you happen to see them get yourself several bags, you’ll be be glad you did. A great backyard grill selection. A fun place to visit.
Agreed. Cleanest and nicest restrooms you will ever see.
From the article: "...Still, it’s hard for me to justify putting money in the pockets of a man who’s willing to support politicians that actively spend their days thinking of new ways to marginalize people of color, trans people, women, and disabled people. Every time I’m annoyed by having to wait for a bathroom stall in a crowded Buc-ee’s or they’re out of the chicken salad I like, my irritation is compounded by knowing that I’m going through all this trouble just for some of that money to end up in the hands of people who actively want to harm me..."
If the picture didn't paint the picture completely, this passage fills it in.
The kids around here love it
I loved Stuckey’s when I was a kid also. Sorry to see them go. I loved the Pecan Divinity candy. However, they don’t even compare toa Buc-cees. The first time I stopped was from curiosity because I saw this huge convenience store with a whole bunch of gas pumps. I walked into the Men’s room and was flabbergasted. The floor was cleaner than most plates. I have spent a few dollars at their stores.
The freshly made potato chips are awesome! I stop at Buc-ee’s every chance I get.
Oh is it so special. All that intelligence bubbling out.
Typical me me me skank.
When we make a sojourn down South (which we hope to, soon) I’ll make sure to visit Bucees. What a snotty article.
Buc-ees is the greatest. Stopped at the Luling location many times when I was in college (San Marcos) to get some good BBQ over in Lockhart.
Buc-ees is a must-stop and enjoy part of every one of my trips.
FTA….
…. The vibe is just anxious, whether that’s because people are just really intense about finding the perfect gummy worms off the massive Wall of Gummies, or simply because they’re crammed together like sardines (sardines that are often mask-less) in the middle of a pandemic. Once a sanctuary for weary travelers, Buc-ee’s has become yet another bump in the road…..
We LOVE Buc-ees
This leftist hag/hack is just “another bump in the road”.
Think I saw her in a truckstop parking lot
Good call, that was their staple. We used to buy a lot to deliver to family wherever we were traveling. They’re no match for what Buc-ees is today, but nothing back then could compare to them either. I like all big road stores like that now. One of my favorite things is to check out the hat collection, usually at least one that’s good for a chuckle.
Let’s go Amy.
What an ugly woman, both inside and out.
I live a few miles from one. It is great
The selfie that sez loudly, “I’ma Idiot.”
She looks like she should avoid Buc-ee’s and head to the gym…
🤪🙄😝
