A deeper question: Just what the Hell does the US stand for anymore? Who are we to impose ourselves on the rest of the world!

Agreed.
We have MS13 and many cartels in the US, spreading all kinds of death — whether it be drugs, trafficking humans etc — who need tracking down and killing. Deporting them is BS; they need extermination.

The entire DC establishment is far more concerned with the territorial integrity of Ukraine than they are with our own.

Frankly, I don’t give a rat’s azz if Russia grabs a bit of Ukraine. NATO should’ve been disbanded right after the Cold War. Serves no purpose now other than to drain our wallets and entangle us in business other than our own.

“It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world.”

GEORGE WASHINGTON, FAREWELL ADDRESS TO THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES | MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 1796

I’m pretty damn sure the father of our country wouldn’t have approved of globetrotting neocon warmongering idiots.

Ukraine is to America primarily a source of corruption. We do not need to institutionalize that flow of corruption. Ukraine as a Russian satrapy would offer limited opportunities to such as the Bidens.

To be fair, Tucker would have opposed entry into the Revolutionary War. It’s just his schtick.

Nato is an outdated organization and Ukraine is not our problem. The problems in that country were made worse by Victoria Nuland.

They want us to be “tough” but I doubt they want an actual shooting war or ground war with Russia. That would take years and could escalate into something monstrous.

We are currently beset with humungous problems—an out-of-control border, supply chain breakdowns, galloping inflation, rising fuel prices, increasing crime, and a pandemic that won’t go away. Starting a war with Russia, a country with thousands of nuclear weapons, over a corrupt regime on the other side of the world in which we have no national interest would be insane!

We get drawn into a war with the Russians and it may very well be the last war ever.

1. Ratings (Tucker’s angle that you don’t particularly like sells better)(”Rumors of War” gets ratings points).

2. It’s the Biden Admin., anything can happen/don’t trust what they say.

I have noted this possibility. The liberal mind does not think far enough ahead to see that if we put draconian sanctions on Russia, Russia will not just take the hit and do nothing. Biden and his band of imbeciles act as if Russia will just go down without a fight. To that end, evidence mounts of a tripartite entente of Russia China and Iran, each of whom would love to take a whack at America while we are weak and leaderless. Together they can cause serious trouble, and would not hesitate if the opportunity is right.

They want a war, because it will allow them to pass Sedition Acts, that will ban all criticism of the government.

Williams, do the US a favor…..

Go to Ft Bragg, Ft Drum, Ft Campbell, Ft Benning, Camp Legune, Camp Pendleton, Ft Carson, Ft Wainwright, Ft Lewis, Ft Carson, Ft Knox, and every other US military installation…..assemble all the 18 and 19 years olds, look them all in the eye, and tell them that should go to Ukraine to fight the Russians for no reason.

Tell them that they should be willing to de for no reason.

Then talk to some of their parents and tell them the same thing.

“Tucker and his guests keep touting Russia’s “strategic interests” which justify invading Ukraine. This is supposedly because Ukraine is about to join NATO, something which is no where near happening and which is a pretext Putin is raising to justify annexing Ukraine.”

I don’t follow Carlson, but for your consideration:
A. If Putin wanted to invade Ukraine, why hasn’t he already done so, instead of giving NATO/the US time to pour in weapons and advisors?
B. Biden has made it clear enough that the US is not going to do more than impose sanctions and donate weapons, which Russia will end up with (Afghanistan).
C. Europe wants and needs Russian energy, so a sanctions regime is not going to last. This will become a wedge issue that harms EU-US relations and weakens NATO.
D. Putin has at least three objectives:
1. Putin wants to force the US and NATO into allowing “Finlandization” of Ukraine, so that it is not a significant threat on Russia’s southern border. His talk about sending offensive weapons to Cuba and Venezuela is to rachet up pressure for diplomacy since his show of force on the Ukrainian border hasn’t born fruit.
2. Putin wants to dominate Ukraine and force it to be part of a Eurasian economic and security bloc under Russin hegemony, as a counterweight to NATO and the EU.
3. Putin is not a “self-holder” and his power depends on delivering the goods both to his nationalist popular base and the cabal of business oligarchs and the descendants of the KGB-mafia he came from. These elements have substantial operations that suck wealth out of Ukraine. An actual war, with unpopular casualties, destruction of the cash cow, likely expensive occupation requirements for years, economic isolation and massive losses, losing international good will, scaring NATO into greater readiness, etc., is not a good outcome. Diplomacy that gives Russia less control over Ukraine, but at enormously lower cost, is the objective.

A die-hard optimist might think that Biden is brilliantly calling Putin’s bluff by in effect saying, go ahead and invade, because he knows that is not Putin’s desired end game. Absent diplomatic solutions, eventually Putin will invade, to maintain Russia’s, and his own, credibility and power at home. Biden will demonstrate for any slow learners that the US is a feckless ally, leaving Putin in a position to co-opt other Eurasian states into his empire. The result for Ukraine will be catastrophic instead of merely bad.

He sure will.

It will start with advise, assist, logistics and planning. No shooting. Something will happen. Then it turns to shooting.

The Ukraine isn’t worth the blood of a single American soldier.

Notice that other European nations feel the same way about theirs.
