Hope this vanity to General/ Chat is not too intrusive.
I love Tucker Carlson, his analysis and his bravery, to the extent he's the only Fox show I watch every night.
However, Tucker's opposition to any possible (even imagined) American military action is extreme.
Tucker is against America going to war with Russia over Ukraine. That's ok, but so is everyone, including the Biden Administration. Biden made it clear the American/ NATO reaction to a Russian invasion, would be limited to sanctions.
Yesterday, everyone but Tucker heard Biden practically invite Russia into Ukraine. But Tucker still claimed on yesterday's show that Biden wanted a war with Russia over Ukraine.
Today, he continued his parade of guests who said America wants to invade Russia, and that America will be defeated. I'm not exaggerating, his guest tonight was saying that NATO was created to prevent war, and that the Europeans will not support an invasion of Russia and we'll fail. That's crazy, no one is discussing an invasion of Russia.
Tucker NEVER acknowledges the only thing going on right now is a threatened Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Tucker and his guests keep touting Russia's "strategic interests" which justify invading Ukraine. This is supposedly because Ukraine is about to join NATO, something which is no where near happening and which is a pretext Putin is raising to justify annexing Ukraine.
Prior to this crisis, Tucker had guests claiming we wanted to invade Iran, and who said Iran would defeat the United States.
I respect Tucker's non-intervention beliefs. I accept that some elitists want endless wars. But that doesn't justify lying about a planned US war in Russia, or even in Ukraine.
It also doesn't justify echoing the old Soviet/ Russian ploy of claiming Russia has to attack other countries in "self defense", because the West is "encircling" Russia.
The only thing being done to support Ukraine is giving them weapons to defend themselves - and threatening SANCTIONS. This was also the Trump policy.
Why does Tucker oppose economic sanctions to deter military invasions in Europe? Well he doesn't exactly oppose them, he ignores them and instead argues against his strawman of a planned WWIII with Russia. No one is threatening that.
I'm sorry, but his guests on this topic are anti-American apologists for Russia.
There's an obvious counter argument, that it's a bad thing to encourage Russian military attacks in Europe. Tucker never even acknowledges that argument.
“Exactly. Nuclear war would be a real threat if we get into a conflict with Russia.”
That wouldn’t happen. But a conventional war with Russia on their turf would be brutal as well as pointless.
Once again NO ONE except Russia is planning on a war. And all the talk about independent countries that Russia is somehow allowed to invade is nonsense, similar to Hitler before WWII.
We have lots of independent countries all around us and as shoes in Europe and Asia and it never occurs to us to invade them because their “ours”.
Again, not wanting a war with Russia is completely different from making excuses for Russia.
Allies not shoes.
We shouldn’t be sending or spending anything on Ukraine just to protect Biden’s 10%
