I used to drive around doing this stuff. You really need the ability to “see it” when it ‘appears’ in front of you. And looking a the same landscape over, and over, and over again…only to see something new is where you shift from documentarian to artist.

Like on my bed looking up at the swirly ceiling popcorn finish? I see all kinds of things depending on light and shadow.
