The clip from a doorbell camera on a home across from 869 Fox St. shows the residence explode shortly before 11 a.m., in what is being probed as a possible gas leak.

The footage obtained by The Post shows the blast and the house instantly turning to dust, followed by huge hunks of debris being thrown through the air around the neighborhood.

Two sisters were inside during the blast and were found on the ground outside when emergency responders arrived.

One of the sisters, Martha Dagbatsa, died at the hospital. Two other women — one of whom was the other sister — were in critical condition at a nearby hospital but later stabilized, officials said.

That type of multi unit housing has a firewall between the houses on both sides. It usually extends above the roof and is designed to resist fire for a period longer than a debris fed fire can burn. The appearances are that the units on both sides should be okay.

It spread a little bit but the structure overall did pretty well, I'd say.

correct. the fire separation required is usually a 1-hour wall , maybe 2-hours. However, fire separation partitions cannot and are not designed for the blast forces shown here. However, the after pics seem to show that the barriers worked good at stopping a fire spread. The concussion from the blast seems immense. Wish these folks well.
