The only thing falling faster than CNN’s ratings is the network’s credibility and on Tuesday, the self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news” was savagely mocked over its complete lack of self-awareness over the announcement of a brand new team dedicated to covering misinformation.
(snip)
In a Twitter post soliciting resumes for 3 positions that he needs to fill, Alex Koppelman who is the managing editor for CNN Business proudly announced the formation of the new team, clearly oblivious to the irony given his employer’s own tendencies to act as purveyors of misleading information.
“Hello Twitter! Some very exciting MEDIA JOBS to tell you about. I’m hiring 3 people for a new CNN team dedicated to covering misinformation. Thread about the team/jobs starts here. Please feel free to share far and wide, and if you’re interested, reach out or apply at the links,” Koppelman tweeted.
He then tried to define “misinformation.”
What do we mean by covering misinformation? Really it’s about covering reality: The uses, abuses, and distortions of it, the people twisting it, and the effect that has on all of us. We already do a lot of important work on this; we want to do more,” he wrote.
Koppelman added, “Do you feel like you have to jump down every rabbit hole you see? Do you get mad when you see liars taking advantage of people? Do you spend more time on the internet than anyone really should? This might be the job for you!”
Twitter users leaped at the opportunity to shower CNN with the ridicule and scorn that it invited upon itself.
Many noted that, when it comes to CNN misinformation, it will always be hard to top the network’s live coverage of the “fiery but mostly peaceful” protests in Kenosha, WI last summer

Mr. Potato Head now rulz?
Will they have an award show for fake news winners like CNN? 🤪
So, another set of employees at CNN to specifically church out misinformation.
How can they have a misinformation team when the whole company is already doing nothing but misinformation
"What do you mean it's already been done? How so? What's that? 42? How can it be 42?"
"Firing squad!!! You're needed over here right now! Wait!!! Why are you pointing those guns at me?? Over there!! Over there!!!"
Isn’t their slogan “We ARE misinformation!”?
It would take a least that many to unravel whatever Brian Stelter is sputtering about.
I thought that the Dems/ White House have been their lifeline on that for years.
This is the equivalent of a fire truck that is on fire telling you they’re gonna put out your house fire.
The Guy who was called out by Ted Koppel as what is wrong with CNN is going to be the guy deciding what is truth.
Just hire SNL writers.
brand new team dedicated to covering misinformation...
Which means a brand new team dedicated to producing misinformation and disinformation.
Simply scroll down to [ Apply Now ] and give it your best shot.
If you happen to include examples of CNN bias, or perhaps nothing but examples of CNN bias, and perhaps use a nom de plume like "Brain Seltzer", or "Fired Fredo", or "Zeff Jucker", or "F*ck The Permanent Stain On Our Country That Is CNN", or maybe use ALL of those names -- on a proxy of course -- gosh who knows maybe they would hire a couple Freepers and manage to attract more than 127,000 viewed in primetime...
Cnn’s mission statement off their website is this:
“To deliver the world’s best creative solutions by sourcing the stories that really matter.”
To real people?
A creative solution can have nothing to do with the problem and still be a solution for something. (Depends on what it is) And as for their being creative, it takes a lot of time and energy to find a way to be completely irresponsible and not assist anything by finding stories that have nothing to do with the topic.
