It’s time the USA did something similar to shake things up and destroy the D.C. snake.

My thought too. How would our government and political system change if the capital were moved to, say, Omaha or Salina? Of course we know what would happen to the abandoned D.C. . . .

“It’s time the USA did something similar to shake things up and destroy the D.C. snake.”

You think for a microsecond that geography would make a difference? The problem is the snake, not the geography, and the snake would just relocate to the new place.

I’ve thought about whether there should be an amendment to the Constitution that every state has to set aside public land to host a new Federal capital district every 40-50 years.

Enough for a generation or two, but not enough to allow a longstanding culture of corruption to become entrenched in one part of the country. It would force the government to be close to communities in other states.

Well, I proposed in a recent episode of my podcast that we move the US capital to Kimball, Nebraska.
