It used to. Ironically, this BLM murderer has Trump to thank for his opportunity to get out early. It was Trump who championed and signed the "First Step Act" that was mostly intended to change unfair sentencing guidelines that tended to result in longer sentences for black felons than for white ones. But it also changed the way "good time credits" could be applied.

I doubt this guy will get out in 5, but if he follows the rules he won't do the full 10. How the prosecutor failed to charge him directly for the death is beyond me.
