A friend of mine would shoot sparrows any time, any place (except where specifically prohibited by local law). This other guy who was one of his best friends and also a biker had a terrible problem with this, lecturing him about “killing Gd’s innocent creatures.”
People used to eat sparrows.
You know, I was just reading this book “The First World War - A Complete History” by Martin Gilbert and there’s a part about how General Allenby “captured” Jerusalem without firing a shot - the city dignitaries found some English who were out scrounging for food and surrendered to them. Allenby went on to become a sort of holy man in Jerusalem with Jews, Xtians, and moslems.
Apparently he had a pet fighting spider that he named “Hindenburg.”

(this wikipedia article doesn’t mention the spider)
One of the best aviation applications is to the trailing edges of stealth helicopter rotors. You probably won’t see much documentation on this.
Any mention of who or what that spider fought?
Yes. I understand that.
I lived in NM for many years near Holloman AFB. Before they revealed the Stealth fighters.
It was quiet.
Other fighting spiders. Although Hindenburg apparently was able to bite the tail off a scorpion. There’s reference material on it! Not kidding. I just read this part in the book this morning. That’s why I remembered it.
I’ve seen some stuff. (Not birds, but machines.) Nordberg, I mean NORAD is close enough to here.
Used in the raid to get Bin Laden by Seals.
that just happen to enhance the survivability or else the next mutation to come along would have deep-sixed the entire experiment.
