Anyone who wants even more on this subject should look up “Are You Being Targeted For Euthanasia?” by Mary Therese Helmueller. Her grandmother was basically euthanized in 1984. Overmedicate them. Put them on breathing machines. Turn the machine off. They take a breath and die. Mary is a critical care nurse so she knows what they did to her grandmother when and her mother, also a nurse, were out of the country. She’s a Catholic and says the Culture of Death reigns even in Catholic hospitals. There weren’t enough nurses even before the stupid mandate. Materialistic, pagan, unchristian attitudes reign in hospitals. Suffering has no meaning. Little compassion (suffer with). Critically thinking Christian nurses are being weeded out for lemmings. A friend of Mary Therese’s saw his grandmother being set up for the exit treatment. Demanded that all the medications making her breathing shallow be withdrawn. Doctor objected. But they were withdrawn. Recovered. Rehabbed. Survived. Said they also weren’t giving her water. That if she couldn’t reach the glass, tough luck. HORRIBLE! I’ve had a couple of Christian nurses. Medicine can be so cold without their Christlike attitude.
They took catheter out of my mom post op but never gave her water or monitored her intake- she couldn’t reach jug and couldn’t lift it even if she could due to weakness and pain. And nowadays if you are too sick to read the ’menu’ and order food, you don’t get that either. It wasn’t until I got that hours later that someone helped her.

Have talked to a number of people who have had this happen to a loved one. Years ago there was a piece of legislation that would make it that if a questionable quality of life person came into ERs the attending doc could make decisions not to treat or only use comfort care.
Questionable quality of life to a 31 year old often includes being 70 years old. The legislation did not make in AFAIK but the philosophy has been ingrained I nursing and medicine.
Never let a loved one go to the hospital and stay alone.
I always wondered how the government would handle the baby boomers aging. Now I know.
