The ground here was a little too warm for anything to stick, but we got some impressive snow squalls today. They weren't expecting it to be quite as dynamic as it was. The wind really howled last night and it's still gusty out there this evening, winter weather advisories still up in some counties. Up in Alpine Helen, one of the
downtown webcams shows about 3" on the ground and windy. They always put up their holiday lights after Oktoberfest and leave them up until the end of February, just for these nights. Helen is normally pretty any time of year because the garden lights along the roof edges and windows are standard decor, like lighted topiary.
I'm surprised the snow extends that far south.
