Thanks, S&A!
Some great pics! <3

Yes, of course. I was dumbfounded. Twas a little black long-nosed beady-eyed dead mouse-thingy.
Our Townes killed our Roomba. It could not hold his weight. He lives on bologna and cheese.
We are apex/alpha hunter/killers, but we love some bologna and cheese...
—” I already know my cat’s ‘self-heating’ bed.
It’s ME.”
Our Australian Sheperd will warm the bed for us beforehand but doesn’t like to move once she has a good spot.
We have a large and comfortable couch, a good option over moving a 62-pound brick.
—”I’m in my late sister’s enormous farmhouse. It can cost as much as 800.00/mo to heat this whole place so I just heat one large bedroom upstairs with a space heater and stay there.”
We live in a hundred-year-old farmhouse, not that big and over the years add all new windows and LOTS of insulation plus an Ultra 95% efficient boiler... and my wife and personally installed miles of PEX tubing for heated floors.
But still, cool at night.
A friend knowing that I make felted wool quilts that look similar, sent me this link:

I tried one, liked it so much I gave them out for Christmas!
Some were the Japanese ones as shown and some antique copper ones from ebay most of them for less than $25 delivered but need polishing. A grode one for $14 delivered!
Fill from a teapot or set directly on a gas burner, with LID OFF.
They stay HOT all night long, using a thermocouple and remote meter... Starting at 9PM @ 190 F. degrees @7AM 127 F.
The next morning!!!
And all of them were used the last couple of nights!!!

Oh James is my milk warmed yet.
LOL! I here ya. Four cats. As soon as the temps get cooler, they magically appear sleeping in bed, two on either side of Hubby, and two on either side of me. Hard to turn over — don’t want to disturb the cats, of course.
Aw. It’s so sad to see so many strays. I hope some organization has come in to TNR as many as possible.
I guess the cats objected to being called "stray" or "feral."
“two on either side of me”
Mine do that, too. They makes me feel like Gulliver in Lilliput.
My pleasure.
Some parts of the world, this is commonplace. What was it Bob Barker always said?
I have no problem disturbing Jimmy. I pick him up, throw him onto a pillow at my husband’s feet, and get into bed.
Within seconds he has migrated to slam himself against me, and then it’s a battle to turn over all night.
Cats demand what they perceive to be their rights, and they have no concept of what ‘No!’ or ‘Bad! mean. They just look at you, dismiss you, and continue on with what they were doing.
You can shame a dog, but you can never shame a cat. The concept just doesn’t register in their little walnut brains.
“Cats demand what they perceive to be their rights, and they have no concept of what ‘No!’ or ‘Bad! mean.”
LOL! I’m pretty sure they KNOW what the words mean. They just don’t CARE. Such attitude.
Last night one of ours went woke.
Said she didn’t want to be called a ‘’cat’’ anymore.
Said from now on she wants to be known as a ‘’Feline-American’’.
Cats represent the epitome of opportunism.
They don’t care about politics or social trends. They go with whatever works for THEM, at any moment :-)
(By the way: If there are any carpenters around here who know how to repair clawed-up woodwork around doors, I’d appreciate a clue. Ours discovered over the past year that it’s a good way to wake us up and get us out of bed in the early morning .)
