On canning supplies, lids were not available for an extended period last year. Nobody had them. If you do canning, and you see lids, buy buy buy!
You can't safely and effectively "can" without safe and reliable lids.
I agree that if you see canning lids, get some for yourself and some for a prudent neighbor; also good for bartering even other food crop seed, or just exchange.
In season, they are almost impossible to find, much less, in any sizeable numbers.
I know there used to be a 'reusable lid' called "Tatter", which could be used several times , but I haven't heard much about them lately.
Anybody know anything current about them ?
