Does it come with or without turds on the front porch? It comes without the turds... But no worry: Within days, a brand-new batch should be ornamenting your stoop!

I remember “no bedrooms” being the punch line to a JAP (Jewish American Princess) joke. Well, don't keep us on tenterhooks! Let's hear it!

It’s the ol’ “Sleepin’ on the Living Room Couch” house!

What’s a JAP’s (Jewish American Princess) idea of the perfect house?
Seven rooms in Scarsdale, no kitchen, no bedrooms.

I live in a suburb that’s upper middle class with at least one section that’s very much upper class. Houses much nicer than that are being bought up here, knocked down and replaced by $2-$3 million McMansions.

There’s probably some bad karma with that place.

“But is it possible for a contractor to pay $2mn for the dump, put, say, $400k into renovating and sell it for $3.2 mn”
I suppose you could say the lot’s for sale for $2m.
To: irishjuggler
I’m in S.F., and I doubt I know anyone who would say that the 300 block of Day Street is the “best block” in town. Not even close. But is it possible for a contractor to pay $2mn for the dump, put, say, $400k into renovating and sell it for $3.2 mn. Yes, I suppose it is.
Yes, it is possible but not assured. If Jerome Powell has his SHTF moment before the renovations are completed and the property sold, it could result in a huge loss.

Day Street is the “best block” in townThe best blocks in SF are easy to find. Look at where the Feinsteins and Pelosis live. It ain't there.

Actually, buying properties is among the few ways that ordinary mainland Chinese can invest their money. It has driven their construction bubble and led to the building of now empty cities not fit for habitation … all operating on the view that an “asset” that cannot be lived in or rented (has no income”) is an investment.

It’s funny.
No matter how much San Francisco declines, and regardless of the histrionic hatred of it here and on other conservative sites (much of it deserved), it by definition is becoming more desirable of a place to live, at least if one ascribes any merit to Capitalism.
Bizarre. And I’m a second generation native probably more aghast at the decline than people who’ve never lived there.

Seven rooms in Scarsdale, no kitchen, no bedrooms. Implying that a JAP girlfriend will not cook or "put out?"
