The clinicians I follow on Twitter are reporting the "mild" upper airway omicron comes with high viral loads. Many patients developing severe bacterial infections at 14 days requiring antibiotic intervention.

I'm reminded of anthrax with the initial "flu like" presentation followed by an "eclipse" period where the patient appears to be Ok. The final act is a cherry colored foam exiting the mouth.

No matter how "mild", it is an active SARS-CoV-2 infection. Shutting down replication is critical to limiting long term damage to organs all over the body.

Thatnis what omicron is I beleive? Covid goes deeper, which is why it’s so hard to beat for some folks, omicron though is said to,be upper lungs aread, not as bad
