Also, he threatened to again close the border with Canada and the USA; was this an attempt to keep trade/commerce out ?
Canada has a "Zero Covid" policy much the same as Australia and New Zealand and countries in the European Union (EU)
Are there indications of supply chain breaking down in your area ? "Bare Shelves Biden" may end up replacing "Let's Go Brandon"

some are faring better than others. Walmart has a lot of under stocked shelves. Winco OTOH last visit has good overall stockage.
Evaluate what you prepping shortfalls are and address them now.
Here in the north GA area The Kroger I frequent is 905-95% stocked.
Meat is pricey, but available. I wait for the mark downs and sales.
Canned goods and dry goods are fine.
Only outage today was Crisco shortening. So I bought the store brand. No biggee.
We *DO* have outages when the locals get wiggy about ‘larger picture’ events. The you see limits on purchases and a few outages, but truly nothing unrecoverable by the next shopping trip.
Our Kroger location (think of it as East Egypt GA) is the highest sales-per-square-foot in the entire Kroger SE region. SO maybe Kroger keeps this one well stocked.
NET: no outages here for groceries, but Home Depot and Ace Hardware do have empty slots a lot.
