Johnny Horton sang this in 1814 song....

We fired our cannon ‘til the barrel melted down
So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round
We filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind
And when we touched the powder off the gator lost his mind
We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin’
There wasn’t as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin’
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico

We're the boys from Camp Kookamunga
Our mothers sent us here fer to study Nature's ways
We learned to make sparks by rubbin' sticks together
And if we get some girls then we'll set the woods ablaze.

In the 60th’s, station at a RCAF base in Canada. We would play that song at meal time. You had to dress up for the meals. The song would drive them crazy. They broke the record. SO we would sing it for there enjoyment. We had to stop at the request of the commander. He got tied of there complaints. We did too, of doing it everyday.
