Three traveling salesmen go to a hotel and are told the room costs $30 for the night so each man chips in $10. Later, the manager goes to the room and tells them he over charged them $5 and gives them five ones. The men can’t figure out how to split the $5 so they each take one dollar and give the manager a $2 tip.
If each man got a dollar back, they each paid $9 for the room. Three times 9 is 27 plus the 2 dollar tip for the manager equals 29. Where’s the missing dollar?
