” It is taught by former policemen and sheriff’s deputies so it’s safe they know what they are talking about.”
Read that sentence out loud...slowly.

Here is a Ruger LCR compared to a Sig 365 (via Handgunhero.com). Sig gives you 10+1 rounds of 9mm in a slightly smaller package, that only weighs a couple ounces more. There is an argument for the ultimate reliability of a revolver, but you give up a lot of firepower. Ummmm? 6 rounds of .22 LR vs 11 rounds of 9 mm? What about reload times for the .22 compared to a spare mag for the 9?
I'll choose a 9 any day.

Bought a .38 revolver but felt it was still too bulky. Liked the idea that revolvers were less prone to issues but landed on a Ruger LCP .380 with 6+1 magazine.

Several years ago I spoke with a young man from Mexico who had seen the results of a good number of shootings. I asked him if a .22 cartridge was effective for self defense. He answered that the few .22 victims he knew of that had survived wished that they hadn’t.

I'm curious what people think about the Thunderstruck .22 magnum From what I've seen in some online reviews, there seems to be a problem with stabilizing the projectiles. Function seems okay, but even on near targets there is evidence of the slugs "keyholing".
Also, .22WMR makes one heck of a blast and muzzle flash in a pistol. A revolver that touches off two at once must be a unique experience. See "InRange TV" on YouTube.
