"That’s weird. Zinc, loss of smell, cold/flu treatment. Probably nothing. Just weird. I always wondered where that stuff went."

My son and I lost part of our sense of smell from Zicam swabs about 15 years ago. The product was withdrawn from the market when this effect become evident. Zicam is still around with lozenges and other products. I use the lozenges. It's the direct contact with nasal tissue that seems to have been the problem. We found that the swabs shortened colds, but at an unacceptable price. Zinc is powerful, but like many powerful things, must be used with caution.

We had low-grade fever for 24-48 hours with omicron. After the fever broke it improved pretty quickly, but we also both experienced a lot of head congestion - not nasal stuffiness exactly - more pressure in the ears and persistent headaches. I agree it wasn't severe in the great scheme of things. Had it not been COVID we would have only stayed out of circulation until 24 hours after the fever broke. We've been a little more cautious because we're surrounded by terrified people in our community. We don't want to be blamed when they get omicron, which most of them probably will.

If your parents are elderly or in compromised health, I'd be careful about exposing them. I wouldn't want my 96 year old mom to have it, but we're retired and in good health and weathered it fine.

Any chance you can be a subcontractor for the same company?

FedGov is not a fan of that, and neither is CA. You can't go from employee to contractor and perform similar duties. They'll reclass you back into a w2 employee, and spank everybody.

Fever broke an hour ago and there are no residual effects, meaning my viral load was astonishingly low.

Oddly, besides the low grade fever the only other symptom was a dull headache, barely reminiscent of the nasty one I had under Alpha & Delta.

Had I been at work yesterday, I wouldn’t have even known I was sick at all.

Understood. It turns out he is in Oregon.
I don’t know if that matters...

” But as all public health authorities admit, COMIRNATY is not available anywhere”. And here in Reno there is a sign stating (misleading) that there is an approved vaxx so get yours today.

The IRS doesn’t like it, so chances are it won’t work, even if employee and employer both want it. I just know CA is even more strict on fighting 1099s.

Vaccine makers are protected from liability by law. They can’t be sued, even if it’s not under EUA.

Congratulations on feeling better. I had some ugly headaches with beta too - the first couple of days. I’m glad you’ve vanquished it.

Thanks. It was a very unique headache. It’s how I’m 99% sure I had Delta. This time it was much milder, but the same.

Super-immunity ;)

Re: "Vaccine makers are protected from liability by law. They can't be sued..."

I disagree.

They can be sued for defective manufacturing and inadequate directions and warnings.

They can also be sued for concealing or falsifying test results or for negligence in data collection.

Do you have a citation for that. Have any of those things ever actually happened?

The point was that he gets to demand to know my medical status...and its not his business...

Re: "Have any of those things ever actually happened?"

You can check with the special Vaccine Court. I do not recall the exact name of the Court. I think they use a Special Master instead of judge.

Anyway, as of 2018, at least 2,500 cases settled in Vaccine Court for $1.8 billion - an average pay day of $720,000.

My sources? I just noodled around the Web for half an hour and found everything I needed.

"Defective manufacturing and inadequate directions and warnings" is a direct quote from a Supreme Court case.

My comments on testing were a summary of two different sources.

I’m prettry sure all the US vials of EUA Pfizer adult dose vaccine would have passed their expiration dates.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“prettry sure” means what?
And the link is to an Australia gov website. Interesting, but again, having difficulty in trying to connect the dots... No mention of expiration dates.
I did find this comment on CDC website: Of course it would be nice if our government dated their pages...
COMINARTY products are not orderable at this time. NDCs are listed per FDA Structured Product Label (SPL) document for the BLA licensed product. These codes are not included in CDC Vaccine Code Set files at this time. Pfizer has provided the following statement regarding the COMINARTY branded NDCs and labels:
“Pfizer received FDA BLA license on 8/23/2021 for its COVID-19 vaccine for use in individuals 16 and older (COMIRNATY). At that time, the FDA published a BLA package insert that included the approved new COVID-19 vaccine tradename COMIRNATY and listed 2 new NDCs (0069-1000-03, 0069-1000-02) and images of labels with the new tradename.
At present, Pfizer does not plan to produce any product with these new NDCs and labels over the next few months while EUA authorized product is still available and being made available for U.S. distribution. As such, the CDC, AMA, and drug compendia may not publish these new codes until Pfizer has determined when the product will be produced with the BLA labels.”
https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/programs/iis/COVID-19-related-codes.html
According to Ohio Star j(12/19/21):
hether Pfizer is distributing Comirnaty is unknown, but the company told The Star Monday that it is still shipping the EUA version of the vaccine.
“The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine (EUA labeled product) is currently being shipped; however, please be advised that the COMIRNATY and the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine have the same formulation and can be used interchangeably. They are made using the same processes, and there are no differences between them in safety or effectiveness,” the company said by email.
The Ohio Department of Health (ODOH), in charge of distribution of the vaccines, could not be reached for comment.
Asked multiple times if Comirnaty is in use anywhere, Pfizer did not respond.
Though Pfizer says the vaccines are interchangeable, the FDA concedes that the products are “legally distinct.”
Gerth and Funke are two journalists who are knowingly or unwittingly assisting the FDA and pharmaceutical companies with the shell-game. Comirnaty is not available in the US. Pfizer is required to notify other countries that the BioNTech vaccine is not FDA approved.
