The Vikings are expected to move on from head coach Mike Zimmer this week, league sources said, though longtime general manager Rick Spielman is likely to remain with the organization. Zimmer has been in Minnesota since 2014 and quickly helped turn the franchise around, though he is 7-9 for the second straight year. With one game to play this season, their playoff hopes are gone.

What will they do with the qb? It’s about money.
I’m sorry, but until the Vikings start losing Superbowls again, I’m not going to pay any attention.
When I moved to Minnesota, the Vikings were losing a Superbowl almost every other year.
The Vikings had appeared, at that time, in the Superbowl more times than any other team, and lost every single one.
That’s the sort of record to be proud of.
If native American names are offensive, why not the Vikings?
Given it is Minneapolis, there has to be a more relevant name.
Lakers was already taken

that’s just funny......:)
Considering the huge Scandinavia population in Minnesota, the name fits.

yeah, the GM got em in that mess. He should be canned too.
The Lakers should have left the name when they moved. Ditto, the Colts.
Why not the rioters?
Cousins is a good QB. But you won’t win the Super Bowl with him.
The Bills have also lost 4 superbowls tieing the Vikings for the “Losers of the NFL”.
I will say this, Vikings lost most of their superbowls to teams I would consider dynasty teams. I think in 1970 they played the Dolphons who supposedly to this day had the only perfect season with absolutely zero losses. They lost to the Chiefs I think in ‘74. They lost to the “Steel Curtain” in ‘76 then to the Raiders with the late John Madden as coach in either ‘77 or ‘78.
These guys had the scoop yesterday. They were also the first ones on the Urban Meyer story:

The Vikings and Bills are tied for most Super Bowl appearances without a win at 4 losses each.
The Broncos and Patriots are the teams with the most SB losses at 5 each. However they both have winning records in the SB.
Since their last Super Bowl appearance, the Vikings have instead made losing the NFC Championship Game an art form. They have lost six of them, one behind SF, tied with GB. (Those other teams have managed to win a few of them, too, but not the Vikings.)
Yep, still as many Super Bowl Trophies as the Lions.
Oh I agree but a little late now
Actually the Lions have won 4 NFL Championships, before it became the Super Bowl.
