We have a huge ‘brown turkey’ fig. I made some fig “jam” one year, my own concoction .... didn’t get too thick, but my folks liked it on English muffins.

So I’m trying some “Maldon” salt flakes & was looking them up for source info, etc. ..... they have a recipe tab on their website & I found this fig jam recipe .... looks good to me. There are some interesting instructions for preserving in jars, too.

Some of their other recipes look really tasty as well - check them out! We’re still below freezing at almost 1 pm so I’m staying inside for the time being.

Central Missouri has been in and out of the freezer over the past week. Back in this morning. We are still way behind on precipitation. Next to no snow so far this winter, and only one good rain event.

The ground is frozen, but that didn’t stop Mrs. Augie from picking a sack of kale on Saturday. Fresh-picked greens are a nice treat in the dead of winter.
