A married lesbian couple facing murder charges in the 2020 fatal stabbing in Dallas of a Seattle woman have cut off their ankle monitors and fled while free on bond - and cops did not learn of their abscondment until 10 days later.
Nina Marano, 50, and her wife, Lisa Dykes, 58, were out on their $500,000 bonds for six months when they removed their GPS trackers on Christmas Day within moments of each other and at the same location, according to court documents filed this week in Dallas.
The pair are charged with fatally stabbing 23-year-old Marisela Botello-Valadez in October 2020. The victim's ex-boyfriend is also charged with murder and remains jailed.
Under the conditions of their release, Marano and Dykes were to stay under house arrest and to wear their ankle monitors at all times.
The GPS devices were being monitored by a third party - a private security company called Sentinel - on behalf of the Dallas County Pretrial Services' Electronic Monitoring Bond Division, according to a court document reviewed by DailyMail.com.
On Christmas Day, the signal to both their monitors was last. Two days later, police emailed and texted the fugitives, but received no response.
Then on Tuesday of this week - 10 days after the couple's GPS monitors stopped emitting signals - authorities in Dallas County were finally notified of their abscondment.
Officials blamed the delay on being understaffed over the winter holidays.
Dykes’ attorney, Heath Harris, told Fox News Digital that the batteries in his client's ankle monitor died and he has not been in communication with her.
I just hope that nothing's happened to them, you know? I hope that they're safe,' Harris told the outlet.

One of my doctors has told me he was the luckiest guy in his class at med school. His fingers are too short to do a prostate exam.
His fingers are too short to do a prostate exam.
That might indicate another “shortfall”.
A manager at DAC in Long Beach was named Dick Skinner - he was black and always had a spear mounted on the wall behind his desk!
Oh my God,the picture of the ex- boyfriend.😳
LOL...

There’s an orthopedic surgeon in my town with the last name of Bonebreak.

My foot doctor was Dr. Keister. I always thought he went into the wrong field.
I knew a photographer named Seymour.
Something tells me they look nothing like Thelma and Louise...
Yep, I was right.
Just clicked on the link and (unfortunately) saw their ugly faces.
Quite a story. $6,000 in 1973 was almost half of what some people were making a year in those days.
“$6,000 in 1973 was almost half of what some people were making a year in those days.”
In all truth that did include the front door the police had to break down to get into the place.
I took a peep inside a couple of days later.
All the windows were needing replacement, not just the glass but the entire window.
Half the cabinets were destroyed.
I’m just wondering if the cabinet damage was from some weird sexual escapades that I have no idea about.
The toilet and BR sink were totaled.
Most of the sheetrock was in shreds.
Leave it to raging lesbians to shred sheetrock.
The oven was on it’s side looking like a dump truck had hit it.
And the back door was in splinters.
Pretty sure he replaced the carpet too.
These were nice apartments in a very desirable area. My rent was $450/month. There wasn’t anything cheap in that place.
