It was either 1974/75 in Kansas.
I lived in Junction City. Yes Dorothy, Ft. Riley.
From Oct (bad drought) through January, we had tornados to blizzards and everything (i.e. ice storms etc) in between. It was like Karl Rove’s weather machine.
Don’t like the weather in Kansas? Stick around, it will change in 30 minutes.
5.56mm
could tell who in my community was vaccinated because their cars were completely clean.
ROTFLMAO!!
So far (up until this week) we have been having an unseasonably warm winter…
The usual suspects all were beating thr global warming drum…
I told them, get back to me in February when we in our 10th day in a row where we don’t reach 20 degrees in a row…
Yes we were above average most of December, yet here we are now, woke up to 15 degrees and snow…
Imagine that (rolling eyes)
That’s why my dad who grew up in South Buffalo refused to live south of the city when my parents got married.
I have cousins who live in Amherst & Williamsville.
I still have cousins east of town in near Arcade too.
I probably have relatives all around WNY.
We lived just north of Chestnut Ridge Park in OP.
They were a fun party band but they were not all that. About 5-6 years ago I saw them warm up for Boy George, and it became apparent why they were the warm ups. Boy George and his band were just simply superior musicians and singers, and this was extremely obvious seeing the two back-back.
What the teck is this bomb cyclone crap that the media is pushing now? It used to be when we got snow, it was snow. This bomb cyclone crap is a new scare term to scare people. I wish the news media would wake up and stop the nonsense!
EVERYONE - PLEASE!
Burn tires in your yard so that the snow melts right away before it hits the ground!
PLEASE! DO IT NOW!
OMG like Buffalo never get lake effect snow ever, damn the weather services are just stupid
Boston is forecast to get 8" of snow for this storm. Well, it's just what the keyboard says, the key with the swaddled baby with the star over his head:
*
8
It's not like this is out of Left Field. Then again, yes it is. Because overhead of the Boston stone marked 1737 is the "Y'S" with the disembodied hand point down to that stone.
I love etymologies:
Plant a yud vowel in front and Boston (aka New Jerusalem) becomes Jebus-town or Jebus-stone -- Jebus being the old name for Jerusalem, the place on the hill that David took for his own.
Plant an alef vowel in front and Boston becomes ebus-town or ebus-stone -- ebus meaning manger, like where Baby Jesus was placed at his birth.
People might remember that Jesus was named JESUS in all caps for to save "his people" from their sins. Sheesh, why, that's... US!
Then there's that big sign on the wall at Rachel Revere Square that sez:
The North End -- Where Italians trace their roots.
No kidding, "Italians" are the "vital" people, the people who are alive, L'chaim!" Which when all jammed together is "lechem" - bread, the staff of life, so Beth-lehem.
North End of what, a horse facing south?
You know how many restaurants and bakeries pack Little Italy? Where Rachel has her own square, at the place where her husband departed on a famous ride to the parsonage built in 1737.
The "zero" point for the Revolution *is* "The Hub", the axle. Eponymous stone, mysteriously marked 1737. Go figure..
Well it just goes on and on. Amazing what's on the FREEDOM TRAIL.
Soooo... when do we hit critical "Mass."? ;)
Colin Martin is celebrating with friends tonight after being tapped for first use of the coveted “Cyclone Bomb” term this season.
It’s a big deal.
A statue is planned, as well as a dedication ceremony where the Colin Martin International Center for Snowfall in Winter will break ground in Las Vegas.
Heavy air traffic days prior are expected into The China Piped My Eye For Not Getting Rid of the Bundys Internation Airport (POS)
No, I get it. Just agreeing with you.
How many inches of lake effect snow does Buffalo get on an average year?
