UMF
The beauty of mānuka honey comes from a complex collection of natural compounds that we call the Unique Mānuka Factors (UMF™) – and you won’t find it anywhere but in authentic New Zealand mānuka honey.

MGO
Honey and health MGO kills bacteria Methylglyoxal (known as MGO) is the phenomenal ingredient found in Manuka Honey and it is known to kill all kinds of bacteria and unlike hydrogen peroxide; it doesn’t lose its antiseptic properties when in contact with bodily fluids. This honey comes from New Zealand and it is considered the best honey around.

UMF stands for “Unique Manuka Factor” and is a grading system developed by the UMF Honey Association in New Zealand. Manuka honey produced in New Zealand can be eligible to receive a UMF certificate.
The MGO grading system has been developed by Professor Thomas Henle for MGO Manuka honey in 2008. It is quite different from Unique Manuka Factor. MGO stands for methylglyoxal which is a chemical that naturally occurs in Manuka honey. It is the “magic ingredient” in Manuka honey.
