Not only has my smelled returned, I positively stink!
I am in the same boat.
I was doing some reading today and it says that it usually starts coming back after two weeks. And anecdotally, all I’ve read is that it has taken a month or two.
I’ve lost about ten pounds. Meat texture without taste is…unusual.
My sense of smell and taste returned 4 days into a 25-day hospitalization. My wife, with a much milder case, it took weeks.
Yeah…it’s not that. I have had 62 years of colds and flu. I’ve never lost the sense of taste like this.
Do you think they are all lying?
Howya, sitetest! Glad to know you’re still kicking.
Same with my sister she got vaccinated plus boostered and of course made no difference she can’t smell anything and her taste maybe a speck but that’s it..she said what is weird is that with omicron supposedly losing your taste and smell is not one of the symptoms of it
Regular people coffee.
Yes, I am a supertaster.
Don’t know if this plays into it anywhere.
Doubt anyone is doing any real study on that.
My daughter had Covid a year ago. She noticed the lack of smell when cooking with garlic and confirmed it with a sniff of the diaper pail. It took a year for her to get half of her smell back. That diaper pail test has excellent sensitivity and specificity.
Mine was about three weeks. Still not all back, two months out. What you can taste, that 10%, is salt, sweet, bitter, taste bud stuff. Cook some bacon. If you smell it, your smell is coming back.
Got Fauci-id early Oct and lost all sense of taste and smell.
One month later, hints of taste, no smell
Two months later, more taste, some smell.
December - things are finally getting back to normal.
Hang in there, things really do suck when you cannot taste or smell.
It’s almost as bad as watching CNN.
My wife’s came back in about two weeks iirc, but her loss was not complete in the first place.
For now. Embarking on a new challenge. Keep me in your prayers. Thanks.
I’ve also some heard people say they have (so far) permanent specific changes in taste. Like chocolate and maybe one or two other things don’t taste the same any more, although other foods still taste and smell the same.
LOL!
For me it was about a week but I was and am still taking Vitamin D/K and Zinc.
All of us are only kicking “for now,” in the big picture. I will pray for you.
No. I think they just didn’t notice it when they were congested before, but since it was listed as a particular Covid symptom, they now see it.
It is the same as the number of people who found they had restless leg syndrome when Big Pharma advertised for it.
I’m sure they’re not, but it would be awfully interesting if someone did.
My suggestion - Stop Sniffin’ Gasoline! (sarc always on :))
