A lot of the time (this based on long experience), when your cat is bringing you fresh or half-dead critters, it’s doing what Mom Cat did with it (and this is what raptor birds do, too): Bring you a disabled prey so you can learn how to kill. Kill! Kill! (Consider that every domestic cat or dog has learned how to kill from its mom.)
