Auto Makers Supercharge Move into Electric Vehicles

The Chrysler brand is ditching gas engines and going to an all-electric lineup. And Japan’s Sony Group Corp. plans to jump into the electric-vehicle fray, creating its own car unit.

Stellantis said in July that it plans to spend more than $35.5 billion through 2025 to release an array of new plug-in models. Ford has said it would spend $30 billion on electric vehicles through 2025. GM has said it plans to spend $35 billion by the middle of the decade to introduce 30 plug-in models globally and has set a 2035 target date for phasing out gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles from its showrooms.

The F-150 Lightning is priced between $40,000 for a base model and the high $90,000s for the high-end models.

I think Toyota is staying the course, but quantities will be limited and prices will skyrocket because of the desirability of the gas models vs the electrics.

My recommendation is to purchase a nice gas powered model you like in the next few years and take very good care of it.

Probably a good time for a new company like DeLorean to make cars. But knowing the government, that probably won’t be allowed. So we’ll make do with what we have like you said. I wonder if the end game is let’s say, by 2050, a total ban on gas stations? You’ll be permitted to keep a gas clunker but you wouldn’t be able to fill it up.

So is a bowel movement, but it has an excuse— it is natural and follows NATURAL laws. Electric vehicles will drive every one of these companies into the dust. And each one requires US... all the other people, to supply the subsidies from government so these companies can survive, instead of making quality products. They have already lost.

I think the best alternative would be running on moonshine.
Distilling for mobility!

All the people who own cars and have purchased a replacement engine block in storage for the replacement after a million miles of the original. There are such people— very smart ones, who are very tech and engineering savvy.

“Make no mistake—this is a movement,” GM Chief Executive Mary Barra said Wednesday”
The auto companies are controlled by WOKE management. All of them. Last year Mary Barra was asked how her plan to go totally EV will work when the public has overwhelmingly rejected EV’s? Abysmal sales.
Her reply was telling, she said, we will eliminate all gas and diesel products from the market. The consumer will have no choice in the matter.
In other words, the WOKE CEO’s are telling the people FU, we are in control and you will get what we give you.
When asked, what about the sheer volume of gas and diesel cars on the market?
What will that do to sales, she responded we have a plan for that as well. Drive up the price of gas and diesel to the point where it becomes untenable for the average consumer.

Better have a couple transmissions on the shelf too.
My data from Pick A Part says after crash damage, busted transmissions are the second leading cause of vehicle death.

Lot of folks known to have done so, and stored their distillate. Not drinking ethanol, but wood alcohol. Very clean engines and fuel systems.

Car companies are the ones pushing EV’s.

GM said they only require a 1/3 of the labor to produce and half the parts. A company in Toledo makes fuel rails for GM. 90 employees
they will be out of a job soon
Toyota predicts they will save billions in warranty work as you now longer have all the components gas cars have. No more fuel problems, trans going out, ignition issues, cooling issues, engine problems. All eliminated.

Toyota said their new EV motors will last a million miles. Their new 2022 cars have a 450 mile range and in a few years their goal is 600 miles

As Rush always said follow the money. This has nothing to do with saving the environment but maximizing profit and eliminating labor cost.

One of my clients owns a car dealership. Chrysler told him 75% of current techs will not be needed. Very little will go wrong with ev’s Of course he is now all for EV’s

Don’t doubt that at all. Restored mom in law’s 1988 Lincoln Town car (a real tough beast, at a mere 140K miles) and the tranny is slipping some. There are still rebuilt (and even some new ones) available, so going to get one. No energy to put this in, but have an ex NASCAR top mechanic who would love to. This time machine will continue to run, and a smoooth ride on 87 octane, and about 28 mpg at highway speeds. Leather interior, the works.

I like EVs, but the cram is not going to fly.

The next move will be to drive the price of fuel to the moon.

In 2020, about 82.66 percent of the total population in the United States lived in cities and urban areas.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/269967/urbanization-in-the-united-states/

Maybe half have a secure garage where the EV can be charged.

A copper power cord to charge and you are on the third floor? It will disappear before the electricity travels to the batteries.

“I think Toyota is staying the course”

Toyota USA just announced they will have 30 EV’s in production by 2030 and are in the planning stages to eliminate gas cars by 2035-2040.

Toyota is now the leader in EV technology and they have passed Tesla and the Chinese
