The good news is that these omicron-specific antibodies also are likely to protect against infection with the delta variant of the virus — though not as well, the researchers found. That, too, was not a big surprise, said Klase, an associate professor in the department of pharmacology and physiology at Drexel’s College of Medicine.
“We keep hearing about how omicron is different, but it’s still the same virus,” he said. “It’s variations on a theme.”
The South African researchers measured the effect of the antibodies on different strains by drawing blood from patients, extracting their antibody-laden plasma, and mixing it with viruses in a lab dish.

There’s no proof that those previously infected by any flavor of COVID are any more protected from a future reinfection than those receiving the mRNA “vaccines.”
I personally know of a person who has contracted COVID twice.
Anyone with antibodies to the non-spike portion of COVID is better off than anyone with only spike portion antibodies.
Vaccine recipients got a very small subsection of the virus.
Very close friend of mine got it twice and became severely ill both times - he got the antibody treatment the second time a week before Biden severely limited its distribution - he would not have been eligible had he gotten sick merely a week later.
I had the covid Feb 2020. Before they knew what it was.
This November I had covid. Almost died. I thought I had antibodies. My Doc said she is seeing ppl come in who have had covid before.
If omicron is not stopped by natural immunities, it’s not going to be stopped by mRna.
I think the CCP dropped a new bio-weapon.
Yes.
Severity of the individuals reaction drives the antibody response.
The worse you get it, the better you have it....if you survive.
I had it twice. The first time was bad muscle aches and fever. Lasted four days. This time it lasted from Saturday afternoon until lunchtime Sunday. Just a runny nose and mild fever.
My employer requires us to get tested if we feel sick, then a negative test to return.
In terms of severity some researchers believe a person’s levels of sphingosine has something to do with it:

Great insight into what "experts" think about you and why they lie to you repeatedly.
They really think that you are an idiot, and if idiot you finds out that omicron is probably not going to kill you, and if idiot you finds out how natural immunity works, you will "simply throw up your hands and stop taking precautions."
Because you're too stupid to digest that information and react appropriately.
Does having the common cold protect you from getting a cold in the future?
Hint: 20% of colds are corona viruses.
Other cold causing viruses are; respiratory syncytial virus, rhinovirus, adenovirus, and parainfluenza viruses. There are multiple strains of all of these in both humans and animals and they mutate.
“There’s no proof ...”
That has been the problem with this whole COVID fiasco from the start. Proof has been supplanted by politics. Agendas are what drive science these days.
I personally know one person who tested positive twice but they were only sick one of those times. I don't know anyone who was actually sick with it twice but I personally know about 30 people who got Covid after being vaccinated.
Therefore, by using circumstantial logic, prior infection is at least 30 times more effective than vaccination.
In all reality, the person you know who "contracted COVID twice" probably had the disappearing flu at least one of those times.
Here is a little trick they play....
They can spin any news any direction they want by either saying “MAY” or “is not fully proven”.
Somethings need double-blind, placebo controlled, peer reviewed studies before they can even be considered factual while other things need to be mandated at gunpoint if there is even a slight chance they are beneficial.
“Children MAY be seriously effected by the virus.”
“It is not fully proven that Ivermectin helps.”
“You MAY be able to get COVID twice.”
“It is not fully proven that the vaccines cause injuries.”
“You MAY be able to transmit it asymptomatically.”
“It is not fully proven that the virus was created in Wuhan with US government funding.”
“Masks MAY help stop the spread even though we now know the virus is aerosolized.”
“It is not fully proven that T cells and B cells will protect you for years.”
