I am betting your personal experience post will be ignored here.
There’s no way to know if vaccination helps prevent severity or not. Fully vaccinated sure didn’t help the lady in the OP story.
Here’s my personal experience; My sister and I spent the first two weeks of October with my folks helping them recover from covid. None of us are vaccinated. My folks never lost taste of smell and never had high fevers. They are 88 and 86. Mainly fatigue and loss of appetite. My folks did get the monoclonal infusion October 1. They didn’t have fevers and had good O2. They had a good Dr. who had a plan that included ivm/zinc compounded into capsules. The Dr prescribed the same for me and my sister, an exposure dose, then preventative. I used iodine drops in a navage along with the prescription ivm/zinc, quercetin, C, D3, etc. Both my sister and I tested negative with antigen and PCR at the end of the two weeks at their house to clear quarantine.
My folks are fully recovered with no long covid symptoms.
I tested for antibodies twice since then and do not have them. It’s amazing I could stay in the house and care for my parents with active covid for two weeks and not get it.
