I thought there was just the one thing Viagra could raise from the dead...who knew!?
Off-label usage accounts for something like 40% of all medication.
One of my former employees had a father who was a chemist who worked in development of Viagra. It was for hypertension. This is the story he told:
When they ran clinical trials on people with high blood pressure and the trials ended they asked for the remaining pills back. People kept on saying “no” “I lost the extra pills” “I don’t know where the pills are”. The researchers wondered what was going on.
Then one guy said his wife did not want him to stop the blood pressure medicine. It gave him a big “stiffie” and she did not want him to stop taking his pills.
So that is how the Viagra thing all started. If they could relieve hypertension in Covid-19 it only makes sense.

generic viagra has actually been used for some time for pulmonary hypertension, IIRC....
Viagra relaxes the arteries to allow more blood flow. Those on nitro tablets are warned about it possibly dropping the blood pressure too low.
