From website:
The Hexie Pot Holder is a Hexagon Shaped Pot Holder and Hot pad. It is a thick pot holder because it is stitched in Front Post Double Crochet Stitches. Perfect For setting Hot pots and dishes on to protect our kitchen and table surfaces.
The Hexie Pot Holder is also very pretty and will look lovely on your dinning room table. It has become one of my favorite style pot holders.
It also makes a nice washcloth because of the texture of the Front Post Double Crochet Stitches and it is the perfect size, at 11 X 11 inches, for cleaning your face, body, kitchen and bathroom.

"As an art form? Of course! We chat about anything and everything, ‘crafty.’"
OK, It is art (homemade).
The Bridge by well-known artist William C. Ressler illustrates that Jesus Christ is the only bridge between heaven and Earth, God and man $4.00 + shipping from The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry) to which I added much as it is used in front of literally thousands of souls heading into events, with just a second or so to see what this messenger (video) is presenting and offering (via sign and tracts).
And with homemade "gospel gear:"
And at night (not as bright as can be when fully |"charged"):
I’ll take ‘Heaven’ for Eternity, Alex! :)
Right as meaning take Jesus (some just want His Heaven). But who is Alex?
Yardage - 85 yards with a 10 hook.
Used an "H" hook (pattern calls for an "I"). This was intended for a pot holder so I wanted an extra dense texture. The smaller hook knocked it down from an 11" diameter to 10 inches.
One thing I did to help me ... each "section" (there are 6) begins with two double crochets in the first stitch & ends with 2 double crochets in the last stitch. I put a stitch marker between the two sections so each was clearly marked and I could make sure to stay on track. After I crochet a dozen of these, I probably won't need stitch markers.
Finishing off - pattern calls for a single crochet in each stitch around. Hmmmm. In the "points", I used 3 sc between (not in) the ending/beginning double crochets. If you look at the top of the 'points', you can see a slight hole. I think 3 sc helps it lie flatter & I like the open look between the two dc clusters - sort of decorative.
The designer says you can use this for a pot holder (yes!), dishcloth (?) or washcloth (?). For my liking, it's a bit too thick for the latter two - if you can find a cotton DK, sport weight, 3-light yarn, I think that would work better than regular cotton (4-medium) for cloth purposes. Also, a larger hook (like the pattern's "I" hook) would loosen up the stitches and make it less 'stiff'.
‘Jeopardy!’ reference.
Yarn: I Love This Yarn [very soft, makes nice arm warmers/hat]
Color: Orchid (very light purple)
I use ‘I Love This Yarn’ in my Blue Ribbon-winning afghans. Highly recommended!
As always, your work is so perfect and lovely. LOVE the color. :)

That sounds so cozy! -3 when I got up this morning. Warming Trend of 10 degrees, today, LOL!
Very stylish, actually. I have friends who have two “adopted” Greyhounds. Don’t give me any ideas (LOL!)!
My niece sent me a video of my little great-niece (3 yo) & “Pom Pom” (the name she’s given her horse). She was ‘singing’ a book (her version of reading) to Pom Pom ... really cute. :-)
So sweet! They are going to play with those horses for a very long time. Best. Toy. Ever. :)

I just found out that my little great-nephew (currently 8 months old) LOVES the chickens (he really, really likes dogs, too)! I think I am going to have to try & find a crochet vest pattern for little boys ... something simple .... and see if I can put egg pockets on it. I could do him an egg apron in camo (less “girlie”), but I really want to find him a vest pattern that I can use. This should be a fun project .... his birthday is in May - a good present, even if he’s too little to wear it yet (he can grow into it).
If you happen across anything that has “egg vest” potential, send it my way :-)
Thanks for the mittens pattern; will keep a ‘Chicken Vest’ in the back of my brain, LOL!
