A Missouri woman was arrested this week after she rushed onto a tarmac in an attempt to stop a departing plane.
According to FOX 6, the incident took place at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Sunday, after 53-year-old Vickie Meyers had missed her flight. Authorities say the woman initially tried to open the closed gate by entering numbers of the keypad, but eventually opened emergency doors and began making her way down a flight of stairs toward the nose of the plane. Airport staffers “immediately made contact” with Meyers and then called police for assistance.
Officers say the woman, who appeared to be intoxicated, admitted she tried to stop the plane “so she would not miss her flight.”
Cellphone footage of the bizarre moment was posted on social media, showing law enforcement confronting Meyers before placing her in handcuffs. She was ultimately charged with first degree criminal trespassing on a crucial public service facility—a felony in Arizona.

Guilty...parole not recommended.
DEMOCRAT!
Karen’s Life Could’ve Gone Splatter
Appeared to be intoxicated? really? I suppose most folks would normally take on an airliner stone sober? Was she trying to climb into a wheel well? Maybe she watched too many Kabul videos and just thot that’s how you board a plane? At least the plane didn’t have propellers or it might have been “ cleanup on the apron?” Mops to taxiway 69.
An exceptional amount of tenacity for the 53 year old woman.
Admirable in a way.
When I was a lad I worked in fleet service at JFK airport in NYC for 2 years, on the ground loading and unloading planes. I never once heard the term “tarmac” from anyone that worked there. It was called “the ramp”.
You can’t fix stupid.
I think that is a British-ism
Yeah.....cause they’ll stop the plane for that and let you onboard.
I always understood the tarmac to be the runway, not the ramp that gets you from the building to the airplane door.

Yes, kinda is.
Oh she just wanted to slap a guy she saw on the plane that wasn’t wearing a mask.
It (tarmac) refers to the asphalt covering on the surface regardless of where it is.
Karen hair.
Apparently she’s not familiar with the physics and damage associated with being sucked into a turbine aircraft engine......it rarely works out well.
I thought the tarmac is where the plane is parked while loading, and the ramp is the road (or taxi way) next to the runway where the plane taxis to the runway.
