Fender shoved them in from the side like a dovetail joint. They abandoned it in 83 or so.

It changed my life, too.
It made me realize that I had zero talent for the guitar, and take-up the piano, to play classical, jazz & boogey-woogey.

Beautiful Strat!! Thank you for the thread. I only have been playing for 1 year, learning mostly from Justin Guitar on YouTube. I own a Fender Strat Squire, a Fender parlor, my Laurel Canyon 3/4, and just both my Mini Taylor GS. Honored to be here with you guitar people!

I have a black and white one that I would never dream of parting with.

Guitars are like your kids. Some are better than others....but you can’t get rid of them. That's for sure. I sold my '59 Fender jazz bass about 35 yrs ago. I've regret it every time I think about it now. I resolved after that to never sell another guitar after that, and to only buy guitars that I want to have around for a lifetime. Needless to say, I have a LOT of guitars and basses.

Thanks.
Plays and sounds fantastic.

I’ll trade you 6 modded Squire Strats for it.

I’m playing my newest guitar at church lately; a Gibson SJ-200 that I picked up at the Gibson Garage at Nashville.
I hadn’t planned on getting any guitars on that trip but man, is it sweet.

Keep on jamming bro. We all get to the point where we have to make allowances for our mortality.

I play a lot of slide guitar. If and when my digits stiffen up hopefully I can still continue playing blues.
