Despite video replay, which sport do you believe is the most difficult to referee?

I think motor racing, especially motorcycle racing.
The referee is the only one who calls fouls and the referee is way too far from most incidents and without
the referee seeing the incident, it never happened.

I would think Rugby would be the toughest, because of the difficult to know whether injuries were deliberately done as opposed to the consequences of mish-mashing bodies.

I have refereed football, basketball, and umpired baseball. The most difficult or pressure filled is baseball because you are on an island in making a call. Football and basketball are obviously faster games with more moving parts, but at least you are part of a crew that can cover your back.

Football is easy because there are so many officials on the field.

Hockey is most definitely the hardest to officiate:

1. It’s a very fast, action-filled game.

2. You can’t officiate it unless you are a good skater. The average referee skates about seven miles during a typical NHL game.

Any women’s sport which has a genetic male participating as a woman. Being able to referee that and not lose your lunch takes balls.
