United and the pilots ’union, the Air Line Pilots Association, reached an agreement for higher pay to cover open trips, Bryan Quigley, United’s senior vice president of flight operations said Friday in a staff note, which was seen by CNBC.
Pilots will be offered three-and-a-half times their pay for flying open trips between Dec. 30 and Jan. 3 and triple pay for picking up trips between Jan. 4 and Jan. 29, the note said.
United’s flight attendants are also getting extra pay to pick up trips and other airlines including JetBlue, American, Southwest and Spirit have also jacked up crew pay to avoid holiday flight disruptions.

As I recall in the fine print commercial pilots aren’t allowed to fly if they’ve taken a Non-FDA approved, experimental drug of any sort. That what the clot shots are: experimental and not approved. That’s what EUA stands for. Airlines can’t have it both ways?

I spent 26-1/2 years as a United pilot. if I were still working I’d tell management to stick the money you know where OR, better yet - use it to get the Gummn’t off our backs.
Management will never respect the workers. Fine. It goes with the territory. Now they can stir in their own juices.
And this cost will be passed onto the customer or even better, government will cover it with taxpayer money.
Don’t to forget to skim some off for bonuses for the corner office folks who showed such amazing business acumen.
Demos do what they want when they want. Rules and laws are less than speed bumps to them.
