There are now alternatives and, frankly, I tried to warn everyone I could about ND when it first came out...to emotional, biased responses.

What is the alternative to ND?
I am on Nextdoor. It seemed interesting/promising when it first appeared years ago - local, community-based, alternate information
It has quickly become unbearable. They seem to censor so much. I actually find people debating on threads to be quite calm and reasonable, but entire threads just disappear whenever there is controversy. They also seem more and more strict on discussions with particular business names. I suppose they are threatened if negative reviews/news is posted. Only whining woke Karens are now allowed.
I believe, just like in China, these USA social media are politically controlled. Not to the same degree, of course, but the “deep state” makes sure accepted oligarchs are in charge, and that all sites know how to censor themselves.
Oh sure, but as I would complain on ND - you’re just listening to your own echo chamber.
And that’s EXACTLY what I’d say to these ninnies - you’re not interested in “discussion” - you want an echo chamber of liberals only.
What good does that do?
It reinforces your biases and doesn’t put a question in any opponent’s mind.
I’m here on FR mostly for the echo and support. But I’m not really going to change anyone’s mind if we’re already sympatico. What’s the point?
