And that’s EXACTLY what I’d say to these ninnies - you’re not interested in “discussion” - you want an echo chamber of liberals only.
What good does that do?
It reinforces your biases and doesn’t put a question in any opponent’s mind.
I’m here on FR mostly for the echo and support. But I’m not really going to change anyone’s mind if we’re already sympatico. What’s the point?
Among the rest, there is ONE important thing I learned from my brief experience on social media:
Our Founders were geniuses about democracy... i.e., absent a discussion, I changed NO ONE’s mind and could never have, even as an influencer under the thumb of the social media tyrants. Mob rules. Going to a fight with a keyboard won’t change a thing.
I’ve heard the tired argument from others I left behind on FB: “If I reach one person, it’s worth it.”
I apparently lack that gene (ego) and/or emotional need, and there’s no substituting a text-based “gotcha” for a good old, knock down argument face-to-face. I got into social media to facilitate my business at the time; I learned valuable lessons and I’m not alone.
The evidence is all around us: The new great migration is happening as I type.
