A Southern California woman who tried to get into her home through a backyard window was attacked and killed by the family’s four dogs and her young son was bitten, authorities said Wednesday.
The woman, whose name wasn’t immediately released, lived with her sister-in-law but nobody was home at the time and the woman had forgotten her key...
Sheriff’s deputies called to the scene saw the woman lying in the backyard and used hoses to force the dogs away from her...
She suffered major injuries to her head and one arm and died at a hospital.

Dogs have been serving mankind for centuries. They truly are man’s best friend.
Those darn dachshunds...
Let me guess: Cocker spaniels and golden retrievers.
My BIL had his calf muscle mauled a week ago by his own dog (a mutt) who he had had for many years.
He had a couple of previous warnings of the dog biting him, but not as severely. Should have gotten rid of it the first time it happened.
Agreed. Most neighborhoods have way too many dogs that haven’t been trained, socialized and given a purpose. They bark for no reason and often all day. I’m rural. 25 acres. Raised chickens, pigs and cows. Nothing big but for freezer eats. My Sam has done good. Past his prime and will be tough to see him go. Such are the pages of the calendar. Hope he passes in his sleep. Not looking to treat him more humanely than we do our family going in pain and agony.
Most owners are not able to or have the space to raise a high energy dog. I have had shepherd and retrievers. Sam is asleep next to the Christmas tree but he does sleep most days and nights. He is in his twilight. When he is gone he will be missed. Yet he is a dog. I can shed a tear for a good dog or kill a bad one.
I understand the frustration of dogs in an environment and owners that don’t allow them to be dogs. I disliked a pair that would bark and snarl every time I walked into my balk yard. I hated their owners.
True, but they are not human, they are not your children, and I do not adore them no matter how special you think they are.
They are still animals, not people, and need to be treated like it so they don’t become the unmitigated nuisance the vast majority of them are.
Nice neighborhood /s
My daughter-in-law is unable to have children. Their dog and cats may be a poor substitute for children, but it’s all she and my son have.
If we were REALLY a multi-cultural country, TRUELY celebrating “diversity”, dogs would be available in the meat section of our supermarkets and in restaurants.
Dogs are far preferably to many people, some entire groups such as the muzzards and the darker amish.
I don’t dislike dogs, but I don’t trust them.
Muslims hate dogs, although I’m seeing lots rescued in Turkey—so there’s hope!
You must live in a lousy neighborhood.

that bites...
Never, EVER trust a person who hates dogs. I wouldn’t trust you for one second.
So, the woman didn’t live there, and the dogs thought she was an intruder. Someone should have warned her that the dogs are territorial or protective.
We had a little American Eskimo dog who was real nasty with just a handful of people. Sweet, sweet dog... Until the wrong person visited.
I do not hate dogs. I own them and enjoy them.
However I fully agree with your assessment about the twisted place dogs have taken in US society.
There are other humans she could spend time on. Human relationships are difficult but rewarding.
Animal relationships are primitive and one dimensional.
