Keith Olbermann is a pedophile.
I said that. It’s true.

John Madden was everyman in the booth, but also a coach through and through. We were always entertained and informed. It was great when they gave him the telestrator. You could see how a play worked from his coaching perspective plus he added his array of hysterical sound effects to all the flourishes he made. On the other hand, the coaches' clicker, while it also gave insight into his coaching perspective, got you seasick from him going back and forth so much.
Some of you will remember Madden's Miller Lite commercials. This was his first.

We use legendary too much these days, but not when it comes to John Madden. RIP.

Olberman is Junior Varsity. When Olberman finally dies, the comments on this site will generally be, “Kieth who?”

For me, he was the personification of what the NFL used to be about ... football.

It now is a stark reminder of just how unwatchable the NFL has become.

If he didn’t like flying, how did he get to away games while coaching?

IIRC he flew when he coached. It’s one of the reasons he quit coaching at the age of 42.

“Oakland Raiders 1970’s.”
When watching pro football was actually fun.
Like John Madden a lot - super nice guy, an authentic man. What you saw is what you got.

What a bunch of characters on those great Raider teams. I always think of that classic shot of “Old Man Willie” returning that interception against the Vikings in the Super Bowl.

Was that at Em Lee’s when he owned the place?
R.I.P., John Madden. Always seemed like a decent guy, a family man and a gentleman.

At the age of 10 I become a Raiders fan when they beat my Miami Dolphins in the AFC Championship game. Nothing was better than watching the Raiders on Monday Night Football in the 70s. Madden was a football legend.

"Such a great coach and broadcaster."

He liked to stop at "Jocko's"; in Nipomo, California. The "Big Spenser" steak there was fabulous.
R.I.P. Coach.

Madden invented the word “Cankles” - describing LA Rams guard Adam Zimmerman’s ankles being as huge as his calves -
