Gina Sheldon had been traveling in Italy and France and bought more than $3,000 worth of gifts.
When she opened up her luggage, she found dog food, an old T-shirt, and a bottle of shaving cream.
The flight was booked through Delta but operated by Air France. In a statement to WMUR-TV, Delta apologized for Sheldon's experience.

IIRC the airline was only responsible for a couple of hundred dollars.
Picking up #1 son from a climbing trip... received a text, PROBLEMS DELAY.
His climbing had been pilfered!!! Bags cut open...
If only they were paid more, THEY MIGHT STEAL LESS!
Ship DHL. Haven’t checked anything of value in years.
old T-shirt, and a bottle of shaving cream, huh?
The thief must have been a nudist hippy with a beard.
The airline paid their standard fee that didn't even cover the cost of the bag because it had a YKK zipper.
YKK replaced the ruined zipper free of charge as a courtesy because that is the type of organization that they are.

Yo Karen, you should let the manager know.
When my uncle died in CA, my brother brought home a suitcase full of pistols and long gun cases.
Obviously done legally, with no ammo but well insured
A frat bro used to steal the drugs out of bags. Weed & coke came back to the house.
THIS!
“Yo Karen, you should let the manager know.”
NMP. Yours.
“If only they were paid more, THEY MIGHT STEAL LESS!”
Ah, the liberal mantra.
I’d say if one has really valuable things, a more secured method of shipping should be used.
My belief is that every piece of checked baggage is rifled for goods of value by handling personnel. All, every one. It’s simply a fair game situation. You place goods of value in your bag, don’t expect it/them to come out the other side. You have zero recourse, you can’t prove you ever had the item(s) in the bag in the first place and nobody is gonna give a crap about whatever it is you’re missing. You have to send goods of value FedEx or whatever carried [hold for pickup] because those goods are just as likely to be stolen off your porch. This is society, 2021.
Pay the shipping costs from the store you bought it at or go to the local post office. I always used the post office in Korea. To ship home than lug stuff from there.
We don’t have customs anymore?
I had a friend who used to put skid marked underwear right on top of all his clothes. He never had a problem with pilfering...
Does she have a dog? If so it’s not a complete loss.
Around the corner likety-split" beautiful car wasn't it. (Berma Shave)
