Jay recently bought this brilliantly engineered, original and unrestored Lincoln Continental convertible from a woman who lived three miles away from him! Lincoln savant John Cashman walks us through the unique and complex systems that make up this perfect California cruiser!
My friend would get dropped off to Jr. High in the hardtop version, and I just thought those suicide doors were the greatest.
One of those monster cars would make a nice artificial reef for diving.
Hard to believe that thing is about 4’ longer than my 4Runner.
My son in law is working on the B-52 repower program at Rolls-Royce.
I tell him it was designed with slide rules, drawn on mylar with pencil, and fabricated by high school graduates on manually operated machine tools.
Have you tried riding a motorcycle without eye protection? It’s an adventure. Possibly a lethal one. And yet we see actors riding motorcycles on TV and in movies without even a pair of sunglasses. Squinting into the wind. And this is on a fake bike going about 20 mph. It’s like the way they mishandle firearms. (I like Jay Leno, btw. This is just a personal beef of mine.)
I think goggles are hella cool and I wear them all the time, even when just relaxing at home.
“Eye protection” doesn’t mean goggles. You should always wear eye protection when you’re in the wind; it can just be sunglasses, duh!
There’s a place on my neck, a red spot, where I got hit by a PIECE OF STRAW that blew off the back of a truck when I was riding my BMW on the highway once. (The 470 in W Denver right after it was built.) After that I started wearing a bandana around my neck.
I didn’t ask about motorcycles .....I asked about convertibles
I don’t like convertibles. They’re ok if you’re rich.
Point was someone’s handling a gun is not comparable to using safety gear or not.
I don’t think it’s worth arguing about.
