In Pulaski, Tennessee, a group of Confederate veterans convenes to form a secret society that they christen the “Ku Klux Klan.” The KKK rapidly grew from a secret social fraternity to a paramilitary force bent on reversing the federal government’s progressive Reconstruction era-activities in the South, especially policies that elevated the rights of the local Black population ---SNIP--- In a few Southern states, Republicans organized militia units to break up the Klan. In 1871, the Ku Klux Act passed Congress, authorizing President Ulysses S. Grant to use military force to suppress the KKK. The Ku Klux Act resulted in nine South Carolina counties being placed under martial law and thousands of arrests.

But according to leftist re-history, all the Democrats and Republicans switched places at some agreed-upon time. So even though the KKK was a Democrat terrorist organization, they can just blame it on Republicans who tried to stop it.
We have the Democrats at this moment plotting a faux "Voting Rights" legislation to further disenfranchise legitimate voters. The Democrat's have been conducting a continual racial pogrom ever since 1865, with no end in sight.
Good point. That paragraph was libelous, spitting in the face of God and his commandment not to bear false witness. None of that paragraph was true, but only served to further divisiveness.

Lincoln believed the negro would have a difficult time assimilating into society and proposed recolonizing them back to Africa and or Caribbean. The great Emmancipator was really not. Victors get to rewrite history. Letters to Horace Greeley state exactly what Lincoln’s intentions were for launching a war against the South. Preserve the union at all cost...even if it meant not freeing the slaves.

Jefferson Davis demanded a treason trial but Salmon Chase of the SCOTUS refused to give him one in fear Jefferson would prove his case that secession was legal.
While Davis remained in Prison, twenty STAUNCH ABOLITIONISTS each gave $5000 each in Gold Coin to secure his release. Among them were Horace Greeley and Cornelius Vanderbilt.
All of the New York newspapers (except the New York Times) called for Davis’ release.
