Recall hearing Mannheim Steamrollers ‘silent night’ at the end of Rush’s last show of the year, usually just before I’d leave work at the half day before the holiday started. Kinda became an annual watermark. I miss it.
Of 100s of Christmas songs on my thumb drive, that song started playing and it did remind me of Rush.
I think about him now and again. I wouldn’t call us friends, but we certainly knew each other.
He was so much different than his persona. Almost a complete flip. Very shy, humble, inquisitive man whenever I was around him.
The Clay and Buck show today had a substitute host from Texas and the whole 3 hour show was about Rush and callers who were helped by Rush. It ended with the Silent Night segment of Rush giving his last Christmas talk.
